We’ve crafted and honed our design/build process to provide outstanding results and outstanding experiences to outstanding people. Designing and building spaces that go beyond homeowners’ expectations is incredibly satisfying. But what we’re most proud of building are lasting relationships with clients who trust us year after year, project after project.

It began in Nashville, as many dreams do, with exactly one architecture degree, one toolbox, and one well-traveled GMC Yukon.

Art Stinson founded Trace in 1991 with little more than these three things and a vision to create beautiful spaces. Together with his business partner and wife, Martha, Trace Ventures, which began as a small renovation business, quickly became known for providing high quality remodels to Nashville homeowners.

Fast-forward a few years, and Mark Holliday is now at the helm. He joined the firm in 2006, bringing decades of construction experience and, more importantly, an innovative vision of what Trace could be. Under his leadership since 2015, we’ve continued to grow up — and out. Today, Mark leads an experienced team of caring professionals that brings our signature craftsmanship to a diversified portfolio, including new construction, high-rise condo buildouts, museums, and refined commercial spaces. Regardless of the project, industry, or budget, our dedication to quality remains steadfast.
