Ralph Sanchez has been involved in the ice industry for 30 years, beginning his career in 1968 as a part-time ice bagger for Reddy Ice in Houston, Texas. Over the years, his responsibilities increased. He became a plant manager and then a regional manager for the company in Florida. In the mid-1970’s, Ralph worked as National Sales Manager for Leer Manufacturing Company, dramatically increasing the company’s sales during his tenure there.
In 1979, Ralph decided to take the knowledge he had accrued over the years and open his own ice plant and equipment sales business in Florida. The business grew quickly and within a few years he was servicing 500 accounts. After six years Ralph sold the ice plant.
In 1990 he founded Sanchez Refrigeration in Ft. Lauderdale, selling new and used equipment and building and designing ice plants. In 1996, Ralph moved his company to Boca Raton, and expanded to include facilities in neighboring cities. The Pompano Beach shop refurbishes used equipment, which Ralph personally oversees, and there are facilities to store equipment in Miami and West Palm Beach
