Accent Hardwood Flooring was established in Durham, North Carolina in 1988. We service the entire Triangle, but focus on Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough. We strive to offer the best quality work and service available anywhere. Accent Hardwood Flooring, Inc. services include:

All work is performed by employees of Accent Hardwood Flooring. WE DO NOT USE SUB-CONTRACTORS. Our employees are trained and committed to excellence. They have all received extensive technical training, and many have attended advanced training schools offered by the National Wood Flooring Association. We are proud of our employees, and they in turn take pride in their work.
Accent Hardwood Flooring is a member of the National Wood Flooring Association, the International Association of Wood Flooring Professionals, and the World Floor Covering Association, and abides by their standards of professional conduct. Our membership allows us access to other professional wood flooring companies, and provides us with information about all wood flooring products and systems. We are also members of Durham Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Durham, Inc., National Association of Home Builders, and Preservation Durham.

Genia Smith – Owner
Genia Smith is president and owner of Accent Hardwood Flooring, Inc. founded by Ms. Smith in 1988. Ms. Smith has been in the hardwood flooring industry for over 30 years, working in all aspects of the industry, including installing, refinishing, repairing, and inspecting wood flooring. She is active in the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA). Ms. Smith served on the Contractor’s Board for the NWFA from 1997-2001. From 2001-2003, she served on the NWFA Convention Committee. She currently serves on the editorial committee of the Wood Flooring Business Magazine. She has led many round table discussions and served as facilitator for convention workshops. She is also active in the Home Builders Association and the Durham Chamber of Commerce. In 2004, Ms. Smith was certified as a Wood Flooring Inspector by the National Wood Flooring Manufacturers Association, one of only 20 inspectors nationwide licensed by NOFMA. She is also certified by the NWFA (License # CPO104129). In 2009, Ms. Smith was certified as a Wood Flooring Inspector by the International Association of Wood Flooring Professionals (IAWFP). She is active in the IAWFP, and was elected treasurer in 2010. Genia evaluates numerous flooring issues for homebuilders, flooring contractors, distributors, and wood flooring manufacturers throughout the Southeast.
